Yeah, that's what needs to be deregulated

But...of, course. The Right's next big crusade.
Fireworks manufacturers say the July 4th displays being staged across country are happening in the face of government regulations that make selling the products an ordeal.
The comments section is full of junior Randian scholars too.

And those comments did not disappoint right from the get-go!

I was tempted to post:

I have been complaining about those regulations for 11...no, 12 years now and it has only gotten worse. This tyranny must end, Insha' Allah, for all. - Haji Abdul Wasiq, truck driver.

The truckers usually have a limit of 14 hours for their shifts, but for a number of years the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has granted them an exemption for the weeks around July 4.

Because what America really really needs are more trucks full of fireworks driven by sleepy truck drivers...

Apparently the "Boston Marathon bombers" used the explosives from fireworks to make their bombs. Maybe that's a good reason to ban fireworks. Pablo

Yes, indeed, it's the height of tyranny to regulate the manufacture of explosives.

And ammonium nitrate.

I'm reminded of the recent Slate video, "When Fireworks Go Wrong."
