Ya' see

When you just default that the GOP nominee is qualified to be 'Commander in Chief'* to harm your intraparty opponent you end up taking the sting out of things like this should you become the nominee:

In an article titled “Hothead McCain,” for the upcoming issue of The Nation, Robert Dreyfuss quotes Col. Larry Wilkerson (Ret.) — former chief of staff to Secretary of State Colin Powell — saying that with Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) “[n]o dissent, no opinion to the contrary, however reasonable, will be entertained.” Wilkerson added that McCain is “hardheaded,” “arrogant,” “hubristic,” and “too proud for his own good.” Referring to McCain’s foreign policy advisers, Wilkerson said: They “scare me.” “Scare me.”

And somehow you proclaim McCain more qualified then another Democrat to be in that position?

Here's what I don't want in a future President.

1. A President that doesn't constantly use the words "Commander in Chief", you know who didn't toss that phrase out much, Franklin Roosevelt and Dwight Eisenhower. And fuck if they didn't have more cause. And they acted this way even though their names were "Franklin" and "Dwight".

2. A President that doesn't have to have an "undefinable" win in one war because his generation lost another one on points, or one that needs to prove she (or he) is a badass too.
