Uh, what?

Nice backbone -- maybe you should use it?

A report on “Rightwing Extremism” that upset conservatives has been withdrawn and is being rewritten, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told lawmakers yesterday. “It was not authorized to be distributed. It had not even completed its vetting process,” she said, calling the incident “probably the worst thing” to happen at DHS.

Forget the general douchebaggery of cowtowing to the right-wing when they repeatedly whine about this -- while ignoring a similar report on left-wing groups before hand. "The worst thing" to happen at DHS?

-- The embarassing no-fly list is not as bad?
-- The DHS appointees actually being pedophiles is not as bad?
-- Katrina is not as bad?

Jeebus, it's one thing to make policy decisions that are not popular, including backtracking (not releasing torture pics) and really maddening and "WTF?"-like, but this stupid and wrong-headed apology does nothing but make shrieking racists nutjobs like Michelle Malkin clap their blood-soaked hands in applause and proclaim themselves to be right -- which they are most decidedly not. Awesome.
