The actual problem, of course, is not necessarily that Sam Brownback is stupid -- although the evidence is pretty convincing, it is that they think enough people are that stupid. This is not the first time that argument has been made in regard to Stem Cells, Bush has said it as well. It is a pre-determined talking point, one that they have cravenly decided is persuasive against all evidence to the contrary.
