Sensible Senators Where Have You Gone?

Check out Digby if you already haven't. This is something that has been rolling around my brain lately: isn't the senate supposed to be the house of congress that stabilizes the government--or at least saves the congress from itself? People like Brownback, Thune, Coburn, and Graham, to name a few, are plainly bad for America.
