Questions for Potter Goss

There are important questions for Potter Goss that he must answer before becoming head of the CIA. Several important questions include:

  • Would Porter Goss commit CIA resources for the purpose of prosecuting whoever is responsible for leaking the fact that Valerie Plame was a CIA undercover agent to the press? And take steps to make sure that a CIA undercover agent will never be "outted" for crass political reasons again

  • Why didn't Goss use his position as Chairman to the House Intelligence Oversight Committee to demand that the White House deal with national security breaches? What steps will be taken to ensure that national security breaches never happen again?

  • And why hasn't Goss used his position to study and repair the breakdowns in the intelligence network after the disaster of 9-11? How will he reassure the public (forget your political bosses) that something like that cannot happen again?

  • Will Goss conduct an investigation of why Jebby Bush had the Florida National Guard on alert before 9-11?

  • Can Goss explain why he has chosen to block recent probes into the American torture of P.O.W.s? Why he has taken several steps to block the probes that the Abu Garaib prison scandal might have have been part of official military policy? Or what is the reasoning behind stopping probes of prisoner abuse in Afghanistan?

  • How does Goss explain the fact that as chairmen House Intelligence committee he hosted a breakfast meeting on Capitol Hill on the morning of 9-11 with Pakistan's General Mahmoud Ahmad, the alleged "money-man" behind the 9-11 hijackers? Why has Goss been involved in stopping investigations into Saudi Arabia and Pakistan's connection to 9-11?

  • Why did Goss work so actively to block investigations into the 1983 Cocaine-Iran contra connection?

There are several other questions about the mistakes made by the intelligence community pre 9-11 that Goss must answer for. I wonder if a partisan GOPer will do the necessary truth telling?
