Perhaps because his statement yesterday about calling Cheney "daddy", "sexier" and having his belly rubbed...
On second thought, I was right for mocking that.
Nonetheless, one thing you can say about Sully is that he is only 80% predictable.
He expected Cheney to crush Edwards...and admits it didn't happen.
Attaturk thought Cheney did much better than Bush, and Edwards slightly worse than Kerry (who crushed Bush not so much because he was fantastic, but because Bush was abysmal living up to every joke and criticism we make about him). So I thought this was a much closer contest, with a slight edge to Edwards, because when you come down to it, Cheney is an unpleasant fellow and Edwards is not. Cheney lies big about even small things, while Edwards, like any politician, merely overelaborates about big issues. Edwards showed he was no lightweight, while Cheney remained an unpleasant, competent appearing (the reality is different) guy. Edwards had more to prove, and he did so.
Sully, however, thought it much more lopsided in Edwards favor. I don't know if his leg was up in the air shaking during the debate or not though.
