Keyes attends dinner he wasn't invited to
October 4, 2004 (NORTHBROOK, Ill.) — Republican senatorial candidate Alan Keyes wasn't invited to the New Trier Township Republican Organization's annual dinner yesterday evening, but he showed up anyway.
Keyes and his wife, Jocelyn, arrived at the Northbrook hotel where the dinner was held about 5 p-m and left about an hour later, citing family plans for their early departure. The dinner was scheduled to run until about 11 p-m.
Keyes, whose ultraconservative campaign has irritated many Republican leaders, had not been invited to speak at the dinner.
