Upon reflection about this whole shell game the Bush administration is playing regarding Social Security I just wanted to highlight here the difference between the way Clinton ran his administration versus how Bush runs his.
Aside from the obvious, which is that Bush, because of his lack of qulaifications to hold the office, lack of curiosity or interest in the world, history, economics, science, and the like, does not really run the office or the administration--it runs him. While Clinton had control, a real grasp on both domestic and foreign affairs, as well as the ability to make informed and important decisions based on even conflicting data. Bush simply lacks that depth.
For Bush, it is all about him.
When Clinton formed the health care reform task force, chaired by Hilary, it was for the expressed purpose of finding a way to provide health care for all citizens. No shell game, no hide the ball, no mixed messages (I don't buy the BS about how it was all secret). Bush instead hides his real agenda (getting rid of Social Security) as some Conference on the Economy.
I really do miss Clinton.
