Chertoff Is An Asshole

Russert doing a pretty good job staying after him. Chertoff starts off with the administration talking point: we faced a second disaster, we were surprised by the failing levees. Russert stays on him, reads the quotes and confronts him with the prior knowledge the government had.

So what Chertoff is really saying: when we say we were surprised, what we really mean is that we thought we dodged a bullet. That is the story we have to stay on, these fuckers knew what was going to happen and failed to protect all the poor people in New Orleans.
