Wolcott cites to a
critic after his own acerbic heart who takes down War Hedonist Victor David Hanson, the whole thing must be read (in both places) but surely this deserves something in the "Sentence Hall-of-Fame":
"...Mr. Hanson is one of a long and undistinguished line of personalities stretching back into the abysm of time: the tribal bard, the court historian, the academic recipient of the Lenin Prize. Compared to him, politically connected scribes such as Arthur Schlesinger, Jr., resemble Dietrich Bonhoeffer."
