A song for These Days

From Dead Country

This is the story of the hurricane
apologies to Bob Dylan

This is the story of the Hurricane
and the sniper they came to blame
for something that he never do-o-ne
somebody saw a phantom with a gu-u-n
and instead of rescuing the people they all ru-u-un!

Dead bodies lyin' in the New Orleans sun
Down in the super dome they stopped having fun
and the angry victims started talking 'bout revo-lu-shu-u-n!

Somebody said we need to call up the cops
They're raiding wally world , the looting won't stop
we need to shoot those welfare bums
we don't know where the shot came from
but we need an excuse why we didn't co-o-me
to their aid right away like we would white americ-a-ans!

The fix was in, the president blamed the mayor
in politics he was a two bit player
the spin on Hannity and Colmes
was
the poor
shoulda been smart enough to leave their ho-o-mes!
