You know, I wish I could try not caring, but...but... they moved the joint session to the goddamn NFL opener with my beloved Packers. Wanna guess how happy all us Packers and Saints fans are gonna be about this? C'mon, guess.
Since this speech will be filled with airy suggestions filtered through Obama's "jobs adviser," Jeffrey Immelt, I doubt it's worth listening.
At best, it will have to be thought of as aspirational, since Obama does not actually believe in fighting for his policies. What the Repugs say about his speech will much more closely suggest the end result--and none of it good.
It's unfortunate that Obama's legacy from his first two and a half years in office is that many more people have come to think that he's exceptionally good at talking the talk, and utterly incapable of walking the walk.
Even more unfortunate that Obama thinks the latter is unnecessary.

Obama wanted Wednesday. Boehner said Thursday. Obama negotiated a compromise and agreed on Thursday.
The dry cleaning bills to get the Republican tire tread marks off the back of his Hartmax suit jackets must be astronomical.
Here comes the deal: they'll give him a jobs bill if he guts the EPA. Obama will compromise. We'll lose. Heard it here first.
Nor I.
