A walk in the
Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge. Yes, I had huge welts all over my face and neck courtesy of not-shy mosquitoes! The hike wound up lasting less than ten minutes, at which point my fellow hikers and I did a one-eighty and fled to a drugstore in search of something to stop the itch.
No, I don't get out in nature much.

Totally unrelated: best feature films about the Civil War? Put 'em in comments, please. No "Gone With the Wind" and/or "Glory". Need less obvious stuff. Thanks.

Y'know, we might be ready for a good new one....
Cold Mountain is the last one that I can remember and pretty good, too. Loved the quote from Ruby:
They call this war a cloud over the land. But they made the weather and then they stand in the rain and say, shit it's raining.
what's the one with clint eastwood. hides in a southern house w/ girls and not really about the war i guess.
The Beguiled
Gettysburg. Maybe not the greatest movie, but pretty good overall.
Jeff Daniels as Col. Chamberlain was outstanding.
If you don't know about Chamberlain, look him up; survived Fredricksberg, saved Little Round Top at Gettysburg, was at Appomatox, and carried the flag at the victory parade in D.C. at the end of the war.
A real American hero.
These are good suggestions. Thanks.
pansypoo, "Beguiled" sounds interesting.
