Time for another round of...

I was only JOKING!

Marilyn Davenport, a Tea Party activist and member of the Orange County Republican Party's central committee, is drawing fire from people in her own party after circulating a racist email depicting President Barack Obama and his parents as chimpanzees. In the email: "Now you know why — No birth certificate!"

Donald Trump considers it quite the knee-slapper.

Oh, here comes the rationalization:

"Oh, come on! Everybody who knows me knows that I am not a racist. It was a joke. I have friends who are black. Besides, I only sent it to a few people--mostly people I didn't think would be upset by it." [...]

So just to other Republicans then.

Tell me some Democratic idiot asked for an apology. I don't want an apology, neither should anybody else. This is what they are. This is what they do. Period. End of story.

If you circulate a joke to a select few because you know others would be offended by it - You might be a racist.

If you defend your actions by claiming "everyone who knows me knows that I am not a racist" - You might be a racist.

If you constantly have to justify your actions by claiming "it was a joke" - You might be a racist.

"Everybody who knows me knows that I am not a racist."

That is from her deluded Teabirchpublican conservative brain. What everybody who knows her really knows is that she's a racist. Teabirchpublican conservatives, still reeling from the Enlightenment and the summer of free love, embrace that as a feature and not a defect.

You forgot the classic, "I can't be a racist because I have friends who are black" schtick, which she inevitably and deftly deployed.
