Bible freaks trying to run science classes.
That freak from Topeka, Fred Phelps.
Sam Brownback AND Pat Roberts.
Man, what a lineup.
Roberts, scarily, is the most sane of all of them. But Robert's sanity stops at the "edge" of whatever it takes to keep the Chimperor Augustus free from any taint.
The continuing focus on a controversial federal eavesdropping program could “endanger American lives,” Sen. Pat Roberts said Friday.
“What I’m worried about is the al-Qaida reading all of these press accounts as a cascade of further stories and speculation come out, and we lose the capability (of NSA communication intercepts),” said the Intelligence Committee chairman, who has been regularly briefed on the program.
The secret program, first revealed in December, allows the National Security Agency to listen to conversations involving U.S. citizens and alleged terror suspects overseas without a warrant.
Ugh, and it gets worse:
Asked if the wiretaps were a proper exercise of executive authority, Roberts said, “I don’t think there’s any question about it. I think it would be indefensible not to use the capability.
“I’m all for protecting civil liberties,” the Kansas Republican said, “but that’s not the case here. I don’t think it’s your civil liberties to get a call from a terrorist group overseas planning to kill us and not having the intelligence people know that.”
Yes, because civil liberties are all a zero sum game.
We need to toss the current crop of GOP freaks out, to save the country, their party, and themselves. It's freakshow justice that comes from these people.
