MATLOCK!!!

If he could, Broder would be spanking it so hard right now. Instead he masturbates on the keyboard another way:

Obama lost sight of his campaign pledge to enlist Republican ideas and votes. Maybe they were never there to be had, but he never truly tested it. And the deeper he became enmeshed in the Democratic politics of Capitol Hill, the less incentive there was for any Republican to contribute to his success.

Yes, it is ALL his fault, damn Kenyan Socialist Muslim Terrorist, trying to put grandma to sleep!

And by saying all these things it was clear the GOP was serious about working with him.

OMFG! The man is delusional, simply delusional.

What he means is that Obama failed to completely marginalize the Democrat majorities in both houses and let the Republicans* enact their legislation. A fair point. Why did the Democrat president and both houses of congress attempt** to introduce and pass ideas that their constituents voted them in to support? Truly mystifying. Inquiring minds are boggled.

*Teapublican predecessor party.
**If anything, the Dems needed to be more ruthless and less concerned with trying to appease a Party that is ruthless in getting their way. I have conservative (fiscal) Republican friends - for heysoos's sake - that were rooting for the Dems to come together and show some backbone. Some Republicans respect reason and nuance, but all Republicans respect the shiv in the liver for emphasis. Is it too soon to start calling the upcoming congress, the Death Congress?

And let it never be forgotten, and let it resound through the land for all time, the Dean said this, "And as tensions rise and we accelerate preparations for war [with Iran], the economy will improve.*"

This was the old goat's recommendation to Obama for political success in courting the Republicans/Teapublicans - war with Iran. Let me clear my throat and repeat that for clarity, war with Iran. Republican economics 102 - right after lower taxes 101.

Link - warning goes to Andrew Sullivan calling the senile old fool, "Dumber And Nuttier Than Any Crazy-Ass Dude In Pajamas" and saying, "There is so much clinically nuts about this, one doesn't know where to start." Who's to argue with Sully on this one?

Broder is beyond the pale. Time for friends, true friends, to do an intervention.

jimmiraybob, the only intervention that would stand a chance of being successful would be one by the pentagon... they should draft him for an advance mission and drop him into the hills of Afghanistan... It's not like he'd know the difference, and it would put an end to his constant warmongering.

well, if Broder hadn't said exactly the same thing while Bush was marginalizing the Democrats, I... wait a minute

The last time we had robber barons, we had newspapers fighting them.

Now the country will die of corruption.

did anyone tell Broder that the GOP's highest priority is making sure Obama doesn't get reelected?
