This is surprising

The VFW, whose national leadership has done nothing less than tow toe-the-line during the whole of "Operation Clusterfuck" has actually defended a veteran and war protester. The group which had put fingers in their ears when John Kerry had his service slandered in favor of George "Alabama's foreign enough" Bush, actually comes to the aid of a veteran who dares speak out. After all, a guy wearing a camouflage hat and saying "end the war", how can it be less offensive than Bush forcing uniformed soldiers to be his backdrop for his latest and hapless war cry?

But as for the VFW, I guess that's what sub-30% approval will do.
