Not that you missed me...

But I am back. I have been away for a bit more than a week at a conference sponsored by the National Institute of Justice.

I would like to say that I learned a great deal but I didn't. I would like to tell you all that the government's response to various crime problems has improved, it hasn't. And I have to tell you folks that many crime professionals and government opperatives are completely clueless on how to deal with crime problems in a humane fashion.

In session after session it seemed as if the officials at the NIJ were more concerned with good turnouts than with actual learning new ideas and more importantly how to respond progressively to crime. Perhaps I should not be surprised that the W-Effect has infused so many in American government.

Anyhoo, I am back and while none of you may have missed me. I have much to talk about and hopefully a few of the missives will be worth reading. If not, just scroll along...
