Truth is always stranger than fiction -- especially when it probably is fiction:

An unfolding Mega Millions saga in Maryland has taken a new turn as Mirlande Wilson, a McDonald's employee who claimed she had a winning ticket, now says that she hid the paper somewhere inside the fast food restaurant, the New York Post reports.

Of course it is in the New York Post.

And why couldn't she work at Wendy's? My It's a Mad Mad Mad World reference would work a lot better.
