Isn't this supposed to be in Slate?

Because I thought it was expressly forbidden to out-concern troll, Richard Cohen, at the home base?

But from somewhere in Poland, Anne Applebaum will not be vanquished:

...this Jon Stewart rally is such a gloomy development. I'm sure his Million Moderate March, if it happens, will be amusing, and I wouldn't want to spoil the fun by calling it "tragic." But if that's the best the center can do, then "blackly humorous" wouldn't be that far off.

The comments to Applebaum's deep thoughts from WaPo readers are hilarious. Oh, and what you said, StonyPillow.

We shall show the really moderate America in our lowkey, unpretentious, way and laugh at our own ineptitude.

The conservatives and right wingers have no sense of irony, sarcasm or humor so cannot understand Jon Stewart or Steven Colbert (who many of them think are serious like Glenn Beck). We cannot argue with them or ever win them over. We are wasting energy when we try. Right brain/Left Brain is a true thing. There are brain studies and MRI's to prove it.

the stomp-the-woman-on-the-ground party is sorely in need of a RESTORE SANITY rally.
