Global Warming is tragic enough

Now we're being threatened by what you'd find emanating from the Limbaugh estate:

Scientists have identified thousands of sites in the Arctic where methane that has been stored for many millennia is bubbling into the atmosphere.

The methane has been trapped by ice, but is able to escape as the ice melts.

Writing in the journal Nature Geoscience, the researchers say this ancient gas could have a significant impact on climate change.
I'm sure the G20 managed to ignore this news today in the name of making the average greeks life more miserable.

Getting past the point where I can make jokes, even snide ones, about this.

We're in for some rough sledding.

The methane in permafrost threat has been known for some time. But I hoped it wouldn't materialize.

Its like a trainwreck in slow motion.

Game over folks. This is one of the events that sends the climate models into positive feedback hell.

For the sake of the future of the planet, should we not just go ahead and launch Limbaugh's ass into outer space, in order to preclude any further methane emissions from that gigantic gasbag?
