Pretty much all you need to know

About how "serious" the GOP is about deficit reduction in one headline:

Deal To Avert Government Shutdown Saves $38 Billion — Bush Tax Cut Deal Spent $150 Billion

Not that we can expect Dancin' Dave on Meet the Press to ever bring it up, after all that deal probably saved him six-figures annually, how it affects you or the country he could give a rat-fuck about.

Let me say this again. Nobody - absolutely nobody - in our political classes cares one tiny mouse shit about the deficit. Republicans only care about eliminating all taxes on the rich and corporations, eliminating all corporate regulation, screwing the poor and minorities, and repealing the Enlightenment. "Reducing the deficit"(TM) is simply cover for accomplishing those ends.

the deficit is a ploy to destroy the fedral govt as long as the republikkklans demand tax cuts for those who DON'T DESERVE IT.

All this BS that started as soon as FDR... that has gotten traction some 30ish years ago ... is about that 15.3% taxes that the lower 90% of America pays for the benifits of the lower 90% of Americans. Social programs have no use when that money can be better spent offsetting the burdens of the top 10%.
