Hey, it's not only the Revolution that Will Not be Televised...

Let the imminent slaughter and confligration begin.

The Repression doesn't need those nasty press people hanging around.

NAJAF, Iraq, Aug 15 (Reuters) - Iraqi police urged local and foreign journalists in Najaf to leave the holy city on Sunday, citing safety concerns after talks aimed at ending fighting between militia and U.S. forces collapsed.

Najaf police chief Ghaleb al-Jazaeri told a news conference all media should leave the southern city by midday (0800 GMT).

He said that after midday, he would not be able to guarantee their safety.

A group of policemen armed with rifles and pistols later went to a hotel where foreign and Iraqi journalists were staying.

"I have an order that all journalists must leave Najaf now, anyone who does not leave will be arrested," said a police lieutenant, who gave his name as Mohammed.

Iraqi journalists argued with the police, but the police appeared determined to make sure that the journalists leave.

With truce talks failing and thousands flocking to the Ali Iman Shrine to surround Al Sadr and his thugs (less it be thought otherwise, Al Sadr and his group are a bunch of theocratic fascist pricks, David Koresch level).

However, the dynamics of Iraq make wingnuttery more logical than they are in a supposedly enlightened society.

But how enlightened is a society that is essentially the military prop upon which another thug, Allawi, is conducting himself.

NOTHING good can come out of further violence in Najaf.

But, when has that ever stopped the Chimperor?
