my grandfather's uncle was a cop/detective. he treated everybody like humans, even perps and he was a better human for it and got good results.

...'but still'?!?
Where in the Bill of Rights is there an amendment that addresses '...but still...'? We aren't supposed to allow certain sorts of tests as qualification for office, according to the Constitution, but one has to wonder whether a civics test requirement Amendment should be added to the requirements for political office, just to winnow out juiceheads like King...
"... big-mouthed," "... authoritarian," and "... asshole."
Remarkable how nicely those descriptors seem to fit together these days, and reinforce each other....
