Hey, it's Recall Day

I've been so busy the last few weeks worrying about the Starks, that the recall bid on Governor Joffrey Walker in Wisconsin snuck up on me -- does that make this the Battle of Whitewater? (Bad nerd jokes, I know -- but look at the time!)
The Wisconsin recall elections are being called an "epic battle," a "civil war" and even an "un-civil war."
Oh no! As usual the White House has pretty much stayed out of this battle to much consternation and it is expected to be close. So here's your chance Wisconsinites to vote for or against Scott Walker before the Grand Jury does. [cross-posted at Firedoglake]

IIRC, in Wisconsin, one can't establish a legal defense fund, or divert campaign contributions to such a fund unless one is notified by investigators that one is a target of an investigation.

Since Walker has done both of those things, either he's lying about not being a target of the investigation, or he's in violation of the law.

Then again, Walker's always been pretty comfortable with lying and violating the law, so this is just in character for him.

With a little luck, he'll get caught on videotape tonight paying off people to jigger the election results.

He's brazen and stupid. Ordinarily, that's a bad combination.
