It's almost a daily occurence now

That the Vatican or some other Church Official makes a laughably stupid and ironic statement:
The Vatican on Monday sharply criticized a book on sexuality written by a prominent American nun, saying it contradicted church teaching on issues like masturbation, homosexuality and marriage and that its author had a "defective understanding" of Catholic theology.
Yes, as opposed to Cardinal Dolan's understanding of the word "charity".

Umm, kind of like Galileo had a "defective understanding" of astronomy?

Just when you think they can't get any more ludicrous, they outdo themselves. I'm beginning to think that the Catholic Church's material is written by The Onion.

It only took four hundred years for them to apologize for what they did to Galileo. I suspect the Church will disappear entirely well before they get around to apologizing to Sister Margaret.
