Joe McCarthy would approve

Somebody thinks they're a better tyrant than Mubarak:

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) said Friday that he was willing to mobilize the state's National Guard force in order to address the potential repercussions of his stated proposal to eliminate collective bargaining rights for state employees.

Well Wisconsin, you asked for it.

Personally, as a Minnesotan, I choose to blame the Packers organization.

This really has always been the preferred governing modality for Republicans. People just thought Dubya was joking about wanting to be a dictator.

it's great that states leave such trivial things like collective bargaining, and contract negotioations at the curb when saving themselves some cash.just once i'd like to see them start w/themselves when they opt for less wages, and bennys for the working class...

Perhaps the Guv should consider pre-emptive military attacks BEFORE people get worked up. Ya know, the Bush Doctrine?

C'mon Guv, start the killin on your terms rather than waiting for the pinko commie "people" start their uprising on their terms.

Remember - sometimes ya gotta destroy the village in order to save it.

"The proposal would effectively remove unions' right to negotiate in any meaningful way. Local law enforcement and fire employees, as well as state troopers and inspectors would be exempt"...for now...

Beneath the quiet charms of Wisconsin has always dwelt a significant dark side. Too many Germans and too much drinking is my guess.

Kansas has Brownshirt Brownback issuing his rules by executive order, fiats(not autos) in yrup to the point where we wonder why a legislature or court system is necessary.
Imagine the costs to a state of mobilizing its guard for preventive warfare!
