This is exactly what you should expect when you put the fox in charge of the henhouse.
He was indicted for grand theft auto, but the prosecutors declined to press charges.
He was also indicted for concealed carry, but pled guilty to possession of an unregistered gun.
Insufficient evidence was found for indictments for assault with a deadly weapon, and arson.

They already investigated, and found insufficient evidence to bring charges of arson, assault with a deadly weapon, or carrying a concealed weapon. I believe he was convicted of auto theft, though.
