So, Slate then?

Hey Tina Brown, looks like your desperate attempt so save Newsweek by turning into Grit plus Insight has really worked out well.
Newsweek will print its final edition at the end of this year. After nearly 80 years of publication, the news magazine will shift to a digital-only format, available online and on tablet computers, editor-in-chief Tina Brown said on the magazine's website Thursday morning. Its last will be the Dec. 31 issue. "We are transitioning Newsweek, not saying goodbye to it," Brown said.
So essentially you're just saying screw it, let me kill it quietly so nobody notices. Good job Tina Brown, eighty years pissed away in a matter of months.

The WaPo killed it. Tina just slipped in the asparagus.

Tina Brown is just the latest in a long line of idiots responsible for the slow decline and demise of the magazine.

It pretty much stopped being worth reading by the mid-`70s.

I was glad to hear NPR mention their MUSLIM RAGE and HEAVEN IS REAL covers as examples of how Newsweek has degenerated under Tina.

About a decade ago I received a free subscription to Newsweek for a year. I often felt less informed after reading it, and left nearly always wanting to kick the person who wrote the CW piece in the groin.

yet they invite her on NPR to tell us what to read.

Grit plus Insight

I misread that as "Grift plus Insight". Never mind. Raoul, when was the NPR story? I missed "Muslim rage" but read the whole of "Heaven is real"--it was outstandingly terrible, being extremely stupid but too long and florid for people on its level to be able to read it. As if the New Criterion were to run side-boob stories.
