Never been for me

I personally hate the act of smoking, whether it was cigarettes or pot... the sensation of inhaling smoke, awful.

But the war on drugs dumbest aspect was the assault on pot.  Handle it like alcohol, its about as destructive and could raise a lot in taxes instead of being a wasted source of them.

A New York Times editorial agrees.

The think Obama should lead the way on it.

Doubtful.

But within a generation?  Almost certainly.

I agree about "smoking", but one can substitute inhaling non-burnt vapor or rub on a tinture or consume edible food items made with cannabis.

Please provide facts that backup your opinion that "like alcohol, its about as destructive" comment. Maybe look at phoenixtear.ca

Thanks for your blog.

Once the drug lords start using Citizens United to influence our political process, they'll do everything they can to keep the WOD going, and keep pot illegal.

Law enforcement would be impoverished without the WOD, too.

Too many are reaping too much profit to allow change.

Not a fan of pot since the late 70's but legalization would cut off a source of revenue to some nasty people in the drug trade. Sadly, my guess is that big tobacco is poised to get into the legal pot business to replace the drug lords. Almost as bad, plus they'll lobby for subsidies.
