Less Praying more thinking

I admit, years ago I took the Wonderlich Test for shits and giggles in the same fashion NFL players do and scored really high on it, not Ivy League (sans George Bush) high, but not too shabby -- more like Big-10 university high, like a 39 or something. Then I ran the 40 yard dash and did it in like 6.9 seconds, did no pull ups, and fainted during the cone drill and just like that my NFL dream was over (plus I hadn't played since 8th grade and sucked then -- oh, and all this was done in someone's backyard).

Still, I take some satisfaction in this:

At the Scouting Combine, the Wonderlic exam is administered to players in groups. The 12-minute test is preceded by some brief instructions and comments from the person administering the test.

Per a league source, after the person administering the test to [Tim] Tebow's group had finished, Tebow made a request that the players bow their heads in prayer before taking the 50-question exam.

Said one of the other players in response: "Shut the f--k up." Others players in the room then laughed.

Tebow proceeded to score a 22 out of 50, which is slightly below average. So I scored more than Tim Tebow...and this is likely true both for the Wonderlich and in other ways.

My understanding of the scoring system is that the guys who become the best Qbs miss 1-3 questions. (e.g. Brandy, Brees, Manning, McNabb)

The time limit does give you time to be perfect, but you don't have time to really screw up and go back and fix multiple answers. The best Qbs are aware of their situation every time but occasionally make mistakes. You rarely see them throw to one of their guys in coverage. When they throw picks, there usually isn't anyone around. They just screwed up.

Guys who score perfectly (Alex Smith) often turn out to be too afraid to make a mistake and don't make it in the NFL.

This more or less means Tebow isn't ready. Either he is not smart (you don't have to be genius to score well) enough to hack it, or the laughter flustered him so much that he could never hack it in the NFL.

I haven't taken this in a few years, but if I recall, a great deal of the questions go like this:

You have 8 apples.
Chuck has 6 apples.
Chip has 3 apples.

Chip takes 4 apples away from you and now has 7 apples.

How many apples does Chuck have?

H. RES. 1175

Expressing support for designation of the first weekend of May as Ten Commandments Weekend to recognize the significant contributions the Ten Commandments have made to shaping Western civilization and the vital role they played in the development of the institutions and national character of the United States.

I think this is a good time to reflect upon Exodus, Chapter 34:

26 "Bring the best of the firstfruits of your soil to the house of the LORD your God.
"Do not cook a young goat in its mother's milk."

27 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Write down these words, for in accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel." 28 Moses was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights without eating bread or drinking water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant—the Ten Commandments.

I'm out of my league here. I keep wondering how any man could live without bread or water forty days, unless he had beer and pizza. vox

Which was someone's way of telling Tebow, "welcome to the big leagues, hotshot."

I wonder how long it's going to take before Tebow winds up in the Canadian league.

I

starting using this oil when I colored my hair at the recommendation of my hairdresser because my hair sometimes felt limp and lifeless. I still use it now that I've let my gray grow out. It makes my hair

feel and smell great. I found that I don't have to wash my hair every day; I just spread some Curl Cream on my hands and scrunch it through my hair and it works out the "bedhead" look. I don't have super

curly hair; in fact, when I wash it, it looks straight. My hairdress is the one who showed me, using the Curl Cream, that my hair is actually naturally curly..not just wavy. I love it and use it nearly every

day.

I have had mine for almost 3 weeks and absolutly LOVE it. My hair is naturally curly and super frizzy especially on humid days-I live in the south so we have a lot of

humid days. This iron with the use of Chi silk serum keeps my hair frizz free even on humid days. My hair is really thick too but it only takes me 15 minutes to straighten it. It takes me longer now to blow

dry it than it does to straighten my hair. I will never own another flat iron. This one is AMAZING!!
