Who would Jesus Snuff?

I think the latency problem here starts with the name, Reverend Dennis Leatherman:

"First of all, there is a danger of reacting in the flesh, of responding not in a scriptural, spiritual way, but in a fleshly way. Kill them all. Right? I will be very honest with you. My flesh kind of likes that idea...but it grieves the Holy Spirit. It violates Scripture. It is wrong."

How many of these "boy I'd sure like to kill me some gays" statements are going to be allowed before these assholes crawl into their sacred holes?

The number of homicidal and abusive bullies that are in power positions is sickening.

.Kill them all. Right?

What an odd coincidence!

This is EXACTLY what I think about moronic Bible-thumpin' bigots!

They actually have an entire theology that mainly proves why the Sermon on the Mount doesn't apply to them. It goes something like, that's only if you want to imitate Christ, which none of us can hope to do. So what you have to do is confess Jesus as your personal savior (i.e., sign the loyalty oath). Then, anything you do to advance the team's mission is allowed (heard all this on left-of-the-dial Christian radio while driving through east Texas).

Well, exactly, right? It's so much easier than interacting intelligently with those who hold to different life-styles or opinions. Just get rid of them.

The pastor's mistake, and it would be your mistake too if you were a pastor, is being honest about his thoughts. And of course bigots will pay attention to his first thoughts and ignore who he really is - Someone tempered by Jesus' love and mercy and grace.

Jesus didn't feel it necessary to insult gay people.

I fail to see why anyone "tempered by his love and mercy and grace" would find it necessary.
