We're never going to be rid of such crackpots--they are always going to be with us. The unfortunate part of media overload today is that this crackpottery remains front and center in the public mind because the media give it prominence.
Just because this guy winds up on a fourth-tier wacko's program, or Gun Owners of America issues a press release saying, in effect, "lookie, lookie, here we are, saying outrageous nonsense," is no reason for it to be taken seriously.
