A Note about Offensive Posting

Look, I realize that some folks are going to be offended by some jokes. Comedy isn't pretty.

I would HOPE that when Republicans visit here they are offended on occasion, while at the same time at least some of them capable of rational thought would realize that part of dealing with the powerful is cutting them down to size through humor. It's a defense mechanism, it is a SANITY mechanism.

But one thing that strikes me as almost as humorous as a good caption is WHAT people are offended by.

In the last month, I've made fun of JimmyJeff Gannon and made one double-entendre after another about his relationship to various folks;

I've mocked the whole Terry Schiavo situation with bad puns and tasteless skits.

And in the wake of the death of the Pope I've done the same, including wisecracks about the Church's pedophilia scandals and even had a joke about Jesus using the Pope's corpse as a trampoline.

And yet, nobody really evidenced they were offended...some did the obvious and said it was tasteless...tasteless but funny.

So what did somebody finally draw the line at?

All this other stuff I do, and you get offended over a picture of the Popemobile?

WTF?
