Can we leave him out of this?

Defend, if you can, the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq if you want, but really, I think we know pretty clearly Martin Luther King's position on such matters and it would not be an endorsement.

It's almost certain that if Dr. King had lived, he would have loved that marvelous oil pipeline that's being built across Afghanistan.

Because Dr. King would certainly have been a GOP member and fully supported their policy of Endless War.

The easiest person to co-opt is a dead one who cannot speak for himself in the moment.

King was one of the few people at the time who understood and decried American imperialist ambitions in Vietnam. It's not bloody likely that he would mistake what's going on in Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan and elsewhere as anything but the same thing.

how many deluded people are there running the DOD? doesn't responsibly manning the fort require people who are fact based?
