IOKIYAR files

I'm waiting for Jeffrey Lord's denunciation of Clarence Thomas assertion of a "high tech lynching".

There's a guy who is so pathologically awful he needs a prime time show on FoxNews -- not as much as he needs a dictionary, but put the two together and he's highly qualified to work at News Corp.

Thank you for linking to all this, Atta. I don't read Yglesias as much as I should, and Jeffrey Lord/American Spectator are ... well ... words fail.

Comments on Lord's piece at the Spectator site are mixed. Apparently, it's too much, even for some of the rag's readers.

Huh. It's really perplexing why more African Americans don't vote Republican. Must be all that black-racism Fox News (and OnA) goes about.

Dan. You have a talent for such silly puffery!

Provide evidence that Fox mentioned racism committed by blacks any moreso than any other network? Which is almost nil -- for all the mainstream networks the subject is mostly a forbidden one. The narrative is supposed to be that white people are the racists, even though its been several generations since the pendulum swung away from that and more towards racism committed by blacks. One of the cable networks seems pretty distant from the possibility of ever mentioning the subject, they even go so far as to televise specials under their banner of 'Black History Month".

Yea, I haven't seen 'Racism Tonight' on the schedule in such a long long time. Not even during that little flood they had down in Lake Ponchartrain back in '05.

Surely they'd have labeled that good and proper, so halfwits like me and Olives would know for sure!

Yes, the Black Panther/DoJ story that Fox News keeps flogging is really about a miscarriage of justice. It's not a race fueled story at all. Just like ACORN! Clearly black people have the majority of racists in our country. Just ask the white Canadian people OnA knows.

Whew! FINALLY !

Dan finally says something that can be accepted as a truth. He finally noticed that there are no mainstream organizations in the USA with names like the Congressional White Congress or the Nation Association of the Advancement of White People.

Just ask the white Canadian people OnA knows.

pssst.....I know far more American people than I do Canadian. I'm of multiple citizenship. Ummm Can't tell ya any more than that or I'd hafta...

Funny, I was talking with a friend recently who had dual US/Canadian citizenship until sometime in the 90s. She had to choose. She said that voting in a US election served as an automatic choice, thereby nullifying her Canadian citizenship and affirming her US citizenship. If that's true, then OnA is either a holdout or hasn't voted in the last...how many elections?

Hmmm...

No response from Olives and Arrows on the voting question? Curious.

Hedley. Guy.
You might consider that other people have a life and aren't necessarily sitting around waiting for your stupid questions and ignorant commentary.

It sounds like your friend (thought she) had to choose citizenship when she turned 21. It was my understanding that under certain conditions a dual citizen has to choose when they turn 21.

I say "was" because apparently that's not the case, either.

According to this source:

Do You Give Up U.S. Citizenship When You Become a Canadian ?
The State Department presumes a person intends to retain U.S. citizenship.
Only if you actually intended to give up U.S. citizenship. The State Department presumes a person intends to retain U.S. citizenship when that person obtains naturalization in or declares allegiance to another country.

This actual policy goes against public belief. Have you ever heard these statements?:

"My father was a U.S. citizen...but he gave it up."
"My mother voted in Canada and lost her citizenship."
"The U.S. Consulate once told me I'm not a citizen."
"My father was born in the U.S. but I can't prove it."
"I had to choose what country I wanted when I turned 21."
Most likely, these statements were not true!

This relatively new policy is retroactive. This means that it applies to people who may think they already lost their citizenship--even if the U.S. Consulate already made that finding

Curious, huh?

I voted for the following:

Reagan both times, '80 and '84
Bush senior the first time in '88
Clinton both times, '92 and '96
Bush junior both times 2000 and '04
McCain.

Yes. Curious that a flag-waving 'superpatriot' hasn't renounced alien citizenship.

Olives and Arrows said...

WTF is a "superpatriot".

Does it have something to do with New England makin' to the big game?

==================

Holy fuck, Hedley! How can you be so damned consistently wrong? This citizenship issue is just another in a very long line of your having been incorrect.

BTW,,,,
which stocks can you recommend that I NOT invest in?
