I don't like having a beard, I've shaved religiously since my early 20s. But somehow late last week I had some sort of middle-aged acne disaster around my nose that has turned into an ugly scab just under my nose. Sort of a mini-Hitler-stache. So I am presently growing a goatee under duress.
And naturally it looks kind of bad and is coming in grey.
Can't wait till I can shave again.

Getting old sucks - but it beats the alternative.
Growing old is not for the faint of heaart.
Atta, don't lose heart. There are women, myself included, who think gray hair on men is divine, whether on the face or cranium.
Of course, I'm growing old too, so what the hell.
We will refer to you as "hep cat" until further notice.
I, too, was shocked that my beard came in gray.
Then my female friend calmly remarked "So? it matches the hair on your head."
Damn.
Grey beard is good. it hides the lines of sickness and old age.
what atethnawise said, i adore grey/white hair. and shouldn't it be a MUSTACHE? fill out the scab?
Wow! Here's a white-haired, white-bearded gent who is happy to hear that someday he might just have a chance with gorgeous babes such as Athenawise and Pansypoo.
(Just so long as OnAn doesn't go blab a word of this to my wife...)
Hey Atta,
At least prevailing societal norms allow us graying older guys to imagine that we look "distinguished" as opposed to elderly.
you need bongo drums and a beret.

shhhh..... I won't say a word to your wife. Promise.
But I should advise you that although Athenawise and Pansypoo might be somewhat attractive on the outside, it's also very obvious (based on their writing here) that they're nothing but ugly losers on the inside.
Oops wait a sec....
I forgot who YOU are. In that case, you should all get down to hookin' up right away....
says the politeness troll.
You are a seriously deranged person OnA. Seek help. I suggest Asshole Anonymous.
love the onld guy head hair. face hair not so much.
pansypoo
if anybody is tempted, hair dye, including treatments for the beard, is a suspected carcinogen.
why products that have the potential to kill you are allowed on the market, i'll never know.
