I'm glad Obama finally came out for spending money on infrastructure. But, as this has been pretty much what Atrios and Paul Krugman have been calling for since, well pretty much forever (and they want more spent -- and they are, of course, right), there's no credit for the idea and the timing is late.
Nevertheless, better late than never. Sadly though, John Cole is probably right, the merits and they are plentiful will NEVER EVER be fucking discussed by our awesome press corps.
The same press corps that can never seem to mention how many hundred billion the latest war supplemental is for, will go on and on about how we cannot afford to spend $50 billion on anything that doesn't involve border fences or blowing up brown people.

Aaawww. Such a wee little thing. So cute. And so, so tiny.
And bipartisanship. Don't forget bipartisanship.
Wait until the fake scandal investigations of Obama begin.
It will be so lovely and civil.
i think larry needs to be taken out. soon.
can't they at least put together a decent reaganesque ad showing all the roads, bridges, schools and power lines stimulus funding has built? not to mention all the teachers, police and firefighters retained on the job.
gorgeous visuals trump verbal diarrhea.
so basic. it wouldn't be hard either to graphically show how republicans are blocking job creation bills. there is so much ammo that can be employed, it's ridiculous. i can only read dems failing to go on the offensive as their wanting to lose.
or are they waiting till the last minute?
