Rather, unreported

Well look here:

Republicans and Democrats are tied at 46% among registered voters in Gallup's weekly tracking of congressional voting preferences, marking a shift after five consecutive weeks in which the Republicans held the advantage.

I have no idea what that means.

Although, once again I shudder at the thought of how much the GOP would be winning by if they considered running with sanity?

If you pulled back the batshit crazy curtain, you'd see the shades of Herbert Hoover and Robert Taft. Ewww.

Fortunately, sanity is not an option in today's Republican Party.

And it's prolly bad enough in your mind that the GOP already wins almost two out of every three elections!

Imagine how much more they'd win if the media wasn't so heavily leftist biased?

Ah Jesus ... The stupidity packed into this statement:

And it's prolly bad enough in your mind that the GOP already wins almost two out of every three elections!

is just stunning. I assume our resident dumb-ass is including state, county and city elections in his total. The GOP has unquestioned supremacy in it's ability to rule over unpopulated swaths of the country. As most states are made up of sparsely populated counties and towns - each with a elected officials (mayors, AGs, treasurers, reps, etc) it adds up fast. But the number of *people* who vote for Republicans over Democrats is actually, you know, lower (there's a reason the GOP works so hard to suppress voter turnout). Because OnA might have been sleeping through his American history classes, America began urbanizing in the 19th C. Today, 70% of all Americans live in urbanized areas. These areas vote overwhelmingly Democratic.

Lies, damn lies, and things OnA spews....

The same holds true for the Democrats, of course. I love their campaign strategy. I'd summarize their argument for being returned to power as, "we think we're doing pretty well, all things considered, even though things pretty much suck." Now that's the kind of sentiment that will bring out the voters! Woo hoo!

maybe that big beckkathon on MLK day really DID suck.

*yawn*

....as usual Dan manages to twist himself and the facts in bizarre pretzel-like fashion. Same old, same old.

For instance in his latest installment, Dan actually thinks that because the majority of citizens (70% he says) live in cities that it somehow translates into a similar electoral advantage for the Dems.
Dan totally disregards that (a) there are millions of city dwellers voting Republican and (b) more importantly..... that twice the overall number of Americans call themselves conservative as do voters calling themselves liberals. Well, duh !.......not at all surprising that the GOP manages to win almost two thirds of the elections! ......almost two out of every three elections, as I wrote earlier.

Weak troll is weak.

I'm guessing this gnat was boasting about how McCain would crush either Clinton OR Obama with ease two years ago, & cheering the imminent demise of HCR a year later. Verily, as a dog returneth to its vomit, so does a fool return to their folly.

"twice the overall number of Americans call themselves conservative as do voters calling themselves liberals"

Yet when you ask those same people what they actually want their reps to do, somewhere around 70% support "liberal" policies over "conservative" ones. They can call themselves Martians for all the difference it makes - the desire for basic human decency is always an easier commodity to sell than "I got mine, screw everyone else." The GOP is systematically alienating every growing demographic in America & shows no sign of slowing down, cliff be damned.

"the GOP manages to win almost two thirds of the elections!"

Hmm. The last 5 years seem not to back this up: 2004=GOP ... 2006=Dems ... 2008=Dems again. I'm sure you have THE math, as opposed to that godless crypto-marxist base-ten nonsense everyone else is using.

It's telling that in an economy this shaky the GOP can only dream of taking back both the Senate & House - a task that should be a cakewalk for them with the gift of a black President whose middle name is HUSSEIN.

Instead of analyzing their mistakes & figuring out how not to repeat them, they fell in love with the raging case of Stupid-Flu that Bush left them with, & have done nearly everything dead-wrong ever since Obama took the oath of office. Today Michael Steele kicks off the election season in Guam, while Boehner limps out of the gate by openly admitting to his party being obstructionist, no matter how many Americans that hurts in tough times.

2010 is the GOP's election to lose - & if anyone can blow it, these Bozos can.

I was thinking of a period of time somewhat longer than one Senatorial term of office!

Jeez, Atta! How do you manage to find these losers? I thought Dan was doing you justice, but this new one, Jim, certainly rings the bell on the stupidity scale!

Jesus you are an idiot OnA. If you are only referring to federal elections, are you going back to reconstruction for your statistics? Or are you picking some arbitrary point in time and declaring this to be THE TRUTH!

Lies, damn lies, and shit OnA spews...

To pick an arbitrary period Democrats have only won four of the last eleven elections. // "After the disaster of Jimmy Carter, Democrats never again won 50% of the popular vote in SEVEN attempts, (until Barack Obama) while Republicans achieved this feat 4 times over that period (1980, 84, 88, 2004). This is a truly shambolic performance from the Democrats of the modern era."//

And of course, going back to 1789 the large majority of Presidents have been ideologically conservative.

now we know why the country is in such a shit hole. republicans are largely responsible for having driven it off the cliff.

the polling showing rand paul in dead heat with the dem running for senate was a bit of a shock.

say what you will about jimmy carter, but even carter in his one term had a stronger job creation record (10.5 million) than bush managed in eight years (3 million).

Olives and Arrows said...

yes,
... but most of the jobs that Jimmy Carter created were for insolvency lawyers, repo collectors and suicide helplines.

i'm sure the bush tax cuts full of loopholes rewarding corporations for shipping american jobs to china had nothing to do with his pathetic job growth record.

dubya put the W in worst president ever.

Olives and Arrows said...

Dubya isn't even close
to being the worst President ever.

For one example the misery index:

Index = Unemployment rate + Inflation

Carter had an average rate of 20.27 while George W Bush average rate was 8.10 (about average for Presidents since Truman)

Bush finished with a lower rate than when he started, while Carter finished with a much higher rate.

Olives and Arrows said...

The prime interest rate hit actually 21.5% under Jimmy Carter.

Like I said, t'was good times for insolvency lawyers, repo collectors and suicide helplines.(employment-wise)
