I'm going to spend the day remembering

The brief period starting in the late 60s and lasting nearly forty-years when being a self-proclaimed ignoramus and bigot was generally frowned upon as opposed to a huge slice of the Republican Party's base and leadership.

They can't be bargained with. They can't be reasoned with. They don't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And they absolutely will not stop, ever, until our country is dead.

Let them fester in their gangrenous pus of hate floating on the continuous slop of media publicizing.
We look forward to a November account taking of Obama's health care plan passed, a stimulus package that held back a catastrophe, and getting the military out of the Iraq quagmire.
While opposition said No to everything he proposed. vox

these rightwing and religious whackjobs have been around forever. I can remember fundie churches or the local Bircher chapter burning records, books, etc. back in the 50s and 60s. Difference is that back then the press laughed at them and treated them like fringe lunatics.

It's so much easier to gin up propaganda and manipulation when your political base is jerks who are actually proud of their ignorance, superstition, bigotry, stupidity and assholishness.

Could be the only answer is:

The Samson Solution

These cretans are determined to bring down the temple, stand back, take cover, protect yourselves and enjoy the show. Willful ignorance, like greed cannot be cured, it is a terminal condition and not survivable. The charlatans cannot run their lives, let alone an empire and certainly not a Republic. Brush up on your history, political engineering, economics and knowledge of human behavior and get ready for a reconstruction job.
