OMG! Time to give rich people even larger tax cuts!!!

After all it's plainly helped these last 9 years!

The poverty rate jumped to 14.3 percent in 2009, up from 13.2 percent a year earlier and the highest rate since 1994, the Census Bureau said Thursday. Last year, a record 43.6 million people were in poverty, up from 39.8 million in 2008 — the third consecutive increase.

yes, because clearly the rich are suffering....

In a side note, I'm not sure whether to love you or hate you... Your new blog pic has me conflicted.... perfect headline for the pic, but she's another one that I'd be happier not seeing or hearing from again....

Tax cuts for the rich just make sense! If we cut taxes for the poor, that's an incentive to be poor, right? Nobody wants to encourage people to be poor. If we cut taxes for the rich, that'll encourage all the poor people to get rich, so they can have the tax cut too. It's a win/win scenario!

Besides, people who are rich should be rewarded, as got that way through talent and hard work, like Paris "That's Not My Cocaine" Hilton. Just having millions and millions of dollars is not reward enough for people like her, they should have millions and millions and millions of dollars, and the worse off the poor are, the greater the obvious benefit of being rich, which is a further incentive to not be poor. Hey, I think I'm ready to be a professional economist!

Look, the rich simply hurt a lot more than those millions of poor people: http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/2010/09/bet_well_hear_that_again.php?ref=fpblg

May I just say that it is long past time to eat the rich. Immediately impose a 90% tax on all income (including inheritances and capital gains) over $1 million and 50% on income over $250,000, with no loopholes or deductions not generally available to the bottom 50% of the population.

The rich piss on us and then try to tell us we should thank them for all that wealth trickling down...

and luckily for the rich, there are a lot of dumb asses around who are too stupid to even notice that they're being pissed on...

Yep, I'm lookin' at you, OnAn.

PTPSTC,

I realise that you're shouldering a heavy resentment for those richer than you are and you have become accustomed to your self image as being a victim, so I hesitate to disappoint you any further.

All of that aside, I guess I should break this following bit to you gently.
Let me put it this way....my average annual income is probably somewhere around 30 or 40 times what you *earn* on social assistance.

BTW,.... how much does a welfare sponge like you sop up in annually.....in *earnings* ? Ball park.

The title of this post made me laugh, but I seriously have seen the most nonsensical responses from conservatives out there.

Hey Everybody,

I've got a sort of off-topic little story for you. When I was in high school, we had a series of incidents where some disturbed individual smeared feces all over the walls in the restroom, happened three or four times. It got to be all everyone talked about, what a sicko the guy was, why he did such a thing, how he was a total jerk, stuff like that.

After the last time it happened, somebody referred to the incident in a class, wondering why anybody would do something so strange that everyone found so repulsive. The teacher said he was glad someone had brought it up, and suggested that the culprit was driven by a need for attention. He must have been a very sad individual to stoop to such lengths just to get everyone to pay attention to him, and the best thing we all could do would be to not make a big deal about what was going on. After all, this person's life was so miserable that he felt that earning the scorn and derision of the entire community was better than whatever sorry lot he faced in his day-to-day life.

Rather than hate such a person, we should pity him. After all, what he was really expressing in his strange anti-social way was "Look at me! LOOK AT ME!" Just like a toddler throwing a tantrum, it's probably best to ignore them, and hope they figure out some way to get the attention they feel they deserve that's less distressing to everyone else, and better for them.

Just my two cents.

Really interesting story, Major! And fairly well written.

You should consider attempting to *earn* some income with your writing.

You know, Major Wody, prior to my retirement from teaching, I also had to deal with several mentally disturbed students who smeared feces all over the washroom walls.

And would you believe it, each of them insisted that I was just jealous of them, because someday they were going to make 30 or 40 times as much money as me?

Is that your explanation?...your supposed reasoning that all you can manage in response are your childish drive-by comments?

Make no mistake, if you were even remotely capable of refuting what I've written here on these pages, then you would do so.
Same goes for Pansypoo, all she can muster is her standard blah bla bl b "comment" in response. (...as above, at 11:08 PM)

Olives has been refuted repeatedly, factually, decisively. That he can't grasp the error of his delusional ideology is a matter for trained professionals.
