This day in History

September 27, 489 – Odoacer attacks Theodoric at the Battle of Verona, and is defeated again.

Those wacky non-Roman Italian Kings!

If Odoacer was alive today, he would have ghost-twitterers spewing out bad Latin (making up words, just like Cicero) and would have a show following 'Huckabee' on FoxNews.

And, "on 2 February 493," at a banquet celebrating the end of a three year long siege and a new treaty, "Theodoric, after making a toast, killed Odoacer with his own hands."

Now that's hard ball. Takes "ghost-twitterer" to a new level.

Thanks for a little Roman Empire bites the dust history.

Pretty much couldn't hit a good curve after his third or fourth season in the show.

Jesus H. Christ, does anyone else remember when Faux News was making insinuations by calling Michelle Obama "baby mama".

Now here's some Teabagger loon candidate for NY Gov who has an illegitimate kid, do you think they'll utter a tsk-tsk about that?

perhaps "refudiate" was really a coded "fuck you."
